I was raised amid smells of turpentine and linseed oil as my mother is a classically-trained painter. I am personally a self-taught watercolorist and find in art a way to escape from my otherwise “Cartesian universe”. I have always painted, as far as I can remember.
I have lived in France, Spain, Italy, Canada, Australia and now reside in Carmel, IN. Over time I have had the opportunity to visit many other countries (Japan, Korea, UK, Portugal, Germany, Hungary, Morocco, …). Travel is definitely an immense source of inspiration for me and I enjoy both natural landscapes, coastal and urban sceneries. Watercolor is my medium of choice to capture light, contrasts and mood. My artistic influences include watercolorists Joseph Zbukvic and Alvaro Castagnet, Breton painters Mikel Chaussepied and Fanch Moal, and more classically Claude Monet and Paul Gauguin. I paint in a rather spontaneous way, in the moment, and try to convey to the viewer the memory of those special places I’ve enjoyed.
I am available to do commission pieces, and I truly enjoy the opportunity to connect and collaborate on a piece of art.
