Jacquie was born in Grand Rapids, MI. but has lived in Indiana since she was 10 years old and has always been interested in art. As a child, she was known to scavenger materials of all kinds and cobble little creations together. As a teenager, she would spend hours focused on making paper cut-outs with an X-Acto knife, creating intricate designs.
Jacquie attended North Central High School and I.U.P.U.I. but had not yet found a medium of choice. She took her first silversmithing class at The Indianapolis Art Center (at that time it was called The Indianapolis Art League) in 1994 and soon discovered that silversmithing satisfied her love of form & aesthetics and her natural desire to work in 3D art. After a long break in pursuing her passion, Jacquie took a few refresher classes at the Indianapolis Art Center in 2009.
Making earrings, necklaces and rings (even a few hair sticks) gave Jacquie a lot of satisfaction. Family and friends started buying her jewelry and it became obvious that her pieces might interest others. She won the 2013 award at I.A.C.’s student show for Best of Jewelry, Enameling or Fine Metalworking. Her first art fair was the 2014 Broad Ripple Art Fair, which was a success. It only seemed natural to want to be in a gallery with other artists. Jacquie is pleased to join the other talented artists at CCA Gallery.
